• Introduction to Harmony: Results-Oriented Animation: In this unit, students will be introduced to the basics of Harmony and its role in results-oriented animation. They will learn about the software's interface and how to create basic animations. • Principles of Animation: This unit will cover the 12 principles of animation, including squash and stretch, anticipation, staging, straight-ahead and pose-to-pose, follow-through and overlapping action, ease-in and ease-out, arcs, secondary action, timing, exaggeration, solid drawing, and appeal. • Character Design: Students will learn how to create compelling characters that can be used in their animations. They will explore different design elements, such as shape, form, and color, and how they can be used to convey personality and emotion. • Lip Syncing and Dialogue: In this unit, students will learn how to synchronize their character's lip movements with dialogue. They will also learn how to create convincing facial expressions and gestures to help bring their characters to life. • Rigging and Setup: This unit will cover the process of rigging and setting up characters for animation. Students will learn how to create bones, joints, and controls to make their characters move and behave realistically. • Keyframe Animation: Students will learn how to create keyframe animations, including how to set key poses, how to interpolate between keyframes, and how to add motion blur for a more realistic look. • Clean Up and Color: This unit will cover the process of cleaning up and coloring animations. Students will learn how to refine their lines and add color to their characters and backgrounds. • Compositing and Special Effects: In this unit, students will learn how to composite their animations, including how to add special effects, such as lighting and shadows, to enhance the overall look and feel of their animations. • Final Project: The final project unit will give students the opportunity to apply everything they have learned throughout the course. They will create a short animated film, from concept to completion, using Harmony to bring their characters and story to life.
